CHALLENGES FOR BRAZILIAN NURSING

Resumen

When a man is unable to obtain an erection sufficient for penetration erectile dysfunction popularly known as sexual dysfunction, is configured. For those who have been facing this situation in a punctual and sporadic way, it is noteworthy that these occasional episodes of impotence are completely normal, being considered a dysfunction only when this condition lasts for a few months. In this perspective, the research in focus aimed to discuss the main challenges of nursing performance in relation to male sexual health, focusing on problems related to sexual dysfunction. Thus, in the course of the research, the causes of erectile dysfunction were addressed, the importance of early diagnosis, in addition to the role of nursing in the treatment of male erectile dysfunction. The methodology applied to the work followed the literature review method through a bibliographic search. It was also a descriptive research, in which several sources were used for its construction, among them, journals of published articles, according to the proposed theme, accessed through different sources, such as books, academic journals, articles, theses and specialized books, web sites, among others. Therefore, from all the above, it is concluded that it is essential for the nursing professional, regarding their work with patients with sexual dysfunction problems, being communicative, being aware of the importance of the welcoming dimension, knowing how to work in groups, because this is essential, given that an individualist person in the area of health in the current context is not the type of professional desired.
