The research verifies the state of knowledge about the benefits of physical activity for people with type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetes is an endocrine disease characterized by a high level of glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia). This hyperglycemia is caused by a lack of insulin or an inability of insulin to fully exert its effect on target tissues. The practice of physical exercises helps in the loss of weight and fat, in addition to acting on glycemic control and risk factors such as cardiovascular diseases and other comorbidities. The justification for this research is to expand the knowledge of people with type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, about one of the ways of treating this pathology, through the practice of physical exercises, showing how beneficial this means can be for glycemic control and improving the quality of life. . Aiming to demonstrate and guide about the effects and benefits that the practice of physical activity for people with diabetes, in addition to risk factors, control strategies, and protocols that the professional in the area of physical education must carry out for the inclusion of physical activity as part of the diabetes experience and treatment. It is a bibliographic review through secondary searches of articles with information from 1998 to the present, in a total of 21 articles researched. It was possible to understand the combination of aerobic exercise and resistance exercise provides better results for patients with type 1 diabetes, as long as they can perform it correctly and be accompanied by the correct treatment of diabetes.
