EPIDEMIOLOGICAL PROFILE OF PATIENTS SUBMITTED FOR FOLLOW-UP AT THE SPECIALIZED ASSISTANCE SERVICE (SAE) ÂNGELA MURTA, IN TEÓFILO OTONI, FROM 1997 TO 2018

Resumen

The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome - AIDS is a chronic disease that causes a serious public health problem. Services such as the Testing and Counseling Centers (CTA’s), welcomes the individual HIV positive giving all the necessary support. Then, they start the treatment and avoid the viral load present in the organism from getting to its most advanced stage, AIDS. The goal of this study was to find the epidemiological profile of HIV carriers attended in the Intercity Health Consortium between the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys (CIS-EVMJ) in Teófilo Otoni-MG, with data collected from the Specialized Care Service (SAE) Ângela Murta. It is a descriptive and quantitative work trough analysis of 1444 registered medical records on the SAE between 1997 to 2018. Of the 1444 registered, 44% (638) are in treatment, 25% (357) were transferred to other monitoring units, 21% (306) came to death, and 10% (143) abandoned the treatment. It was verified that the majority of the patients who searched for the treatment were between 30-39 years old, 14,6% being male individuals, scenario that approaches with the national. The study of the profile of the patients who went for help at SAE assists in prevention campaigns with the best direction for health professionals.
