Resumen

The elderly population has been increasing over the years and with that the concern arises that these people enter the elderly with quality of life. With aging it is common for the body to lose strength and some physical and motor capabilities. For this aging to occur without so much damage, it is necessary to practice exercises in the specific case of this research, functional training. This training seeks to improve the functional capacities of the elderly, with exercises that boost proprioceptive receptors, improving the progress of synesthetic awareness and body control, increasing functional capacity. The objective of this work is to show how functional training helps in recovering the motor capacity of the elderly, so that daily activities do not become a burden. The research was carried out in a bibliographic way, the search for recent data published in renowned journals, books and scientific articles. Functional training is a great ally of physical education professionals as it brings numerous benefits for the elderly.
