Resumen

Through this bibliographic review work, we sought to analyze the knowledge of university students who are characterized by being users of oral contraceptives, observing their knowledge about the drug interactions of the chosen drug, as well as comparing the knowledge of university women from health and other courses on interactions of oral contraceptives. In addition, the importance of pharmaceutical guidance was described regarding drug interactions that may occur, considering their risks. It was possible to verify that the consumption of oral contraceptives is high worldwide, and in studies carried out in Brazil, a high rate of self-medication with these products is observed, as well as interactions made without the proper guidance by all audiences, including students higher education in health and other areas. This reality was confirmed in the researched framework, indicating the need to develop actions to reverse this situation of indiscriminate use of contraceptives.
