Resumen

The emergency contraceptive, also called the "morning-after pill", is a drug marketed in Brazil, and its main function is to prevent pregnancy. That said, there are several types of contraceptives available in the market, however, they should be used according to the needs and characteristics of each woman. In this sense, the proposed work aims to demonstrate the indiscriminate use of the emergency contraceptive, it is a review of descriptive, qualitative bibliography of an exploratory character made through search in books, scientific articles, websites and electronic journals.
