Resumen

Alzheimer's disease is a disease cause by Thé death of brain cells. It manifests itself as dementia or loss of cognitive functions, such as: memory, attention and language. The diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease requires a post-mortem brain exam and the demonstration of numerous senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the hippocampus and associated cortical areas. However, there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease, and early treatment can be followed by the neurologist who conducts the case and may prescribe medication to reduce the impact of symptoms on an individual's life, such as donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine or memantine, which help maintain mental cognitive functions. In addition to drugs to improve the quality of sleep and mood for example, it is also recommended that psychotherapy be started as soon as possible. It may also be recommended to change the diet, giving preference to natural foods and including physical activities in the daily routine. The general objective of the work is to analyze, through a bibliographic review, the treatments of Alzheimer's disease. The specific objectives are to analyze the pathology along with its clinical manifestations, discuss the risk factors and after the diagnosis is made and report the treatments for Alzheimer's disease.
