The main objective of the respective study is to address a significant literature review that addressed the topic: “The role of Respiratory Physiotherapy as an adjunct in the treatment of Asthma in pediatric patients”. Thus, it was observed that Asthma is a type of condition that affects the lungs, accompanied by an acute inflammation of the bronchi, which are the tubes that carry air into the lungs. The general objective of the study culminated in analyzing the benefits of physiotherapy for children with asthma. The methodological procedure in this work is arranged in a Literature Review format, involving an exploratory-bibliographic dialogue with the authors of in-depth research. Therefore, it is important to highlight that Respiratory Physiotherapy represents a specialized field within physiotherapy, focused on the prevention and treatment of a wide range of conditions that impact the respiratory system, which includes asthma, bronchitis, respiratory failure and tuberculosis. . This study sought to contribute knowledge about physiotherapeutic therapy, which can be considered a non-drug intervention and should be incorporated when the patient is under regular medical monitoring and appropriate pharmacological treatment. At the end of this study, it can be concluded that respiratory physiotherapy is a great auxiliary method in the treatment of asthma, helping to reduce both the intensity and frequency of acute episodes, through the search for physical readaptation, contributing in a very beneficial way to the recovery, rehabilitation and quality of life of patients affected by this condition that affects the lungs.
