Abstract

The aim of this work is to conduct a literature review on the reanatomization of conoid teeth, with an emphasis on direct restorations using composite resins, which aim to restore the aesthetics and harmony of the patient's smile. Dental anomalies such as microdontia or conoid teeth are quite common and affect the shape of the teeth, resulting in a conical or peg-shaped format, besides being smaller compared to adjacent teeth. To properly reanatomize these teeth, it is necessary to follow protocols and restorative procedures aimed at restoring function and aesthetics. Oral health plays a crucial role in an individual's overall health, and dissatisfaction with dental aesthetics, color, or tooth shape can significantly affect self-esteem and quality of life. As a result, more people have been seeking cosmetic dental treatments, yet before undergoing these procedures, a dental evaluation is necessary to determine the appropriate method.

Important parameters such as facial, dentogingival, and dental characteristics are essential for a correct diagnosis and an adequate treatment plan. The chosen restorative technique will depend on the specific characteristics of each case. The direct technique using composite resin allows for a more natural restorative procedure compared to natural teeth and offers several advantages, such as minimal wear on the dental structure and completion of treatment in a single session, providing the patient with a better cost-benefit relationship and potential repairs to the dental element in case of fractures.
