CUIDADOS DE ENFERMAGEM AO PORTADOR DA DOENÇA DE ALZHEIMER

Nurses are essential in assisting caregivers with AD, as they aim to care for the patient and their own family, thus exposing the best way to overcome the functional changes resulting from the disease and the consequences generated in the family environment, providing care and with the reduction of suffering and wear and tear caused by the disease, thus enabling both to enjoy a more balanced life. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to describe the role of nursing in the care of patients identified with Alzheimer's; in addition to identifying which nursing care and evaluating the main methods of identifying the disease. The survey of the scientific production on the proposed topic was carried out using a database available electronically on sites such as: Scientific Library Online (Scielo), Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS) and the Virtual Health Library (BVS). The nurse plays a fundamental role in the evaluation, planning and implementation of care aimed at ensuring the patient's safety, comfort and quality of life. In addition, they provide emotional support and promote effective communication for both the patient and the family, offering comprehensive and ongoing support throughout the course of the illness.
