Estratégias de Prevenção Ao Bullying

Abstract

This paper addresses the psychologist's role in relation to violence in schools, emphasizing bullying prevention strategies as essential for the mental health and development of students, in the identification of risk and protective factors, as well as possibilities for interventions that promote good - emotional and social well-being of those involved in the school community. The central objective of the research is to present the main contributions of school psychology to bullying prevention. As for the methodology used, we opted for bibliographical research, defined as descriptive in terms of purposes and with a qualitative approach.   The study of the history of bullying in Brazil demonstrated that this aspect gained visibility, initially as a social concern and, later, as a public health problem. The contribution of school psychology to preventing bullying is fundamental, as it addresses the problem in a systemic and humanized way.  Therefore, school psychologists must position themselves to promote safer and more secure school environments. Action must go beyond treating trauma caused by school violence, working to create an environment that prevents the emergence of new conflict situations.
