EFEITO SOBRE A AUTOESTIMA EM PACIENTES COM MÁ OCLUSÃO CLASSE III DE ANGLE APÓS CIRURGIA ORTOGNÁTICA CORRETIVA.
UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA.

A presente pesquisa busca responder a seguinte questão: “A cirurgia ortognática interfere na autoestima de pacientes com má oclusão classe III de Angle?”. Para serem incluídos, os estudos deveriam abordar a qualidade de vida, priorizando a autoestima de pacientes que realizaram cirurgia ortognática para correção da má oclusão classe III de angle, não sendo limitado por tipo de estudo, língua ou ano de publicação. As buscas ocorreram na Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Scopus e Web of Science em abril de 2021. Os dados foram principalmente sintetizados pela análise crítica de discurso em profundidade e utilizamos como principal método para avaliação de viés a escala Newcasttle-Otawa. A pesquisa foi registrada no PROSPERO sob o código: CRD42021260005. Foram incluídos 19 estudos que avaliaram um total de 1689 pacientes. Todos os estudos indicaram uma melhora na autoestima dos pacientes após a cirurgia, bem como indicam uma melhora nos aspectos sociais e de qualidade de vida. Com uma correta comunicação profissional-paciente a cirurgia ortognática é uma alternativa eficaz para melhorar a autoestima dos pacientes acometidos pela má oclusão classe III de Angle. Entretanto, a maioria dos relatos não apresenta homogeneidade nos métodos de análise dos desfechos, o que dificulta a certeza na amplitude do efeito dessa terapia na qualidade de vida dos pacientes.
