case report of a 47-year-old patient in the city of Patos de Minas with emphasis on the diagnosis

Abstract

Mantle Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a type of cancer of the lymphatic system, known for its specific aggressiveness and morphology. This study has a challenging context for professionals, as it involves areas such as: medicine, specialties of hematology and oncology, biomedicine, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy and psychology. Even with the advancement of science and technology, this is an incurable disease, but with excellent treatments that reduce suffering and offer a better quality of life to the patient. Thus, recognizing the importance of studying the topic more broadly, the aim was to first analyze a literature review and secondly report a case of LCM. To this end, a methodology was used that consisted of bibliographical research in articles and online magazines, available in databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scielo, Lilacs, published between the years 2010 to 2024 and later, collecting data in an office doctor, along with the application of a questionnaire to the reported patient. Therefore, it was concluded that MCL is a potentially aggressive and complex neoplasm and requires a multidisciplinary approach. Although it is incurable, advances in treatment such as high-dose chemotherapy, use of monoclonal antibodies (Rituximab) and bone marrow transplantation have increased expectations and improved quality of life for patients. Recent literature addresses the importance of early and integrated interventions, in addition to the continued development of effective therapies. The reported clinical case reinforces these approaches, emphasizing the need for individualized treatment and combination of effective combined therapies to achieve MCL remission.
