Abstract

The present work has as its theme the inappropriate omission of family members in cases of child sexual abuse: a legal and psychological analysis, aiming to clarify the factors that lead to the improper omission of family members in these cases. The research problem is concerned with answering the following question: how and why inappropriate omission of family members occurs in cases of child sexual abuse and the possible consequences of this behavior for the victims. To develop the research, the bibliographic review method was used, through books, research, theses, dissertations and the like. To this end, data were collected through a literature review, with research into doctrines, journals and academic works, taken from electronic sources, applicable to the proposed theme, using the words “child abuse”, “omission inappropriate” and “prevention”. The choice of this topic is justified due to the importance of measures being taken, in the legal, social and educational spheres, to minimize the psychological and social consequences for victims, as well as reducing cases of child abuse themselves. The conclusion reached is that there are numerous factors behind the omission of guarantees and that this brings many consequences to the lives of victims, so that it is necessary to reinforce public care policies for children and adolescents, as well as work on a seriously combat inappropriate omission in the face of child sexual abuse.
